Bangkok floating market tour price: the quick answer
The price mostly depends on four choices:
- Shared or private. A shared half-day tour is by far the cheapest. Private tours cost several times more because you pay for the whole vehicle and guide.
- Hotel pick-up or meeting point. Starting from a meeting point is cheaper. Pick-up saves an early-morning taxi across Bangkok.
- What is included. Some tours include the paddle-boat ride through the market and a guide. Others include only transport, so the boat ride and any guide cost extra.
- Half-day or full-day. Full-day tours add Amphawa, Bangkok's temples or the Grand Palace.

Reading the table:
- The cheapest option is not always the best value. The Maeklong + Damnoen Saduak half-day tour includes a paddle-boat ride, a guide and air-conditioned transport, with hotel pick-up as a paid option. The "Visit Damnoen Saduak and Maeklong Train Market" tour includes a driver, transport and a boat ride, but no guide and no hotel pick-up.
- The Amphawa tour is a full day that pairs the Maeklong Railway Market with Amphawa. It comes as a shared or a private option.

Which floating market should you choose?
Damnoen Saduak: the famous one
Damnoen Saduak is about 100 km southwest of Bangkok, around 1.5 to 2 hours by road. It opens early, roughly 7 am to 1 pm, and is at its liveliest before mid-morning, which is why tours leave Bangkok so early. It is also heavily touristy: expect souvenir stalls, busy canals and vendors who expect you to bargain. Go for the photographs and the experience rather than local shopping, and you will enjoy it.
Maeklong Railway Market: the train market
At Maeklong, vendors set out their produce right on the railway tracks and pull back their awnings each time a train passes. Trains pass several times a day, but the timetable changes, so a tour that builds the train time into its schedule is the easiest way to see it. Combining Maeklong with Damnoen Saduak, as three of the tours above do, makes the long drive worthwhile.
Amphawa: the weekend evening market
Amphawa is a weekend market, open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, roughly from the afternoon into the evening. It is popular with Thai visitors and has a relaxed canal-side atmosphere. Check the day of the week before you plan around it.
Khlong Lat Mayom: closer and more local
If a 3-to-4-hour round trip feels like too much, Khlong Lat Mayom is about 20 km from central Bangkok. It opens on weekends and public holidays, is smaller and less touristy, and is mainly about food. We do not sell a tour there, but it is easy to reach by taxi.
Tips for Indian travellers

- Bargain politely: prices on the boats are for bargaining, especially for souvenirs.
