Tribal Culture Of Chiang Dao - Full Day Tour

Your adventure begins when your guide picks you up at your hotel in Chiang Mai City. Get ready for a 70-kilometre journey to the Chiang Dao Area, where a world of wonder awaits! First, you'll get to stop by a morning local market! Your guide will fill you in on all the herbs and veggies used in Thai cooking, as well as the weird and wonderful food and other local products you can find here.

After that, we will continue to Chiang Dao where you will enjoy a tasty lunch. Next, we'll leave the main road and venture even deeper into the countryside. Get ready to stop at a Karen hill tribe village! The Karen tribe is the biggest of all the tribes living in Thailand – and it's a fascinating one! We'll even walk around the village so you can see some of the villagers in their traditional dress!

After this fascinating visit, we'll be heading to a nearby Lisu village on foot! The Lisu people have been cultivating the opium poppy for many generations, and it has become a cornerstone of their economy!

We then continue to visit a Big Ear tribe, the Yao tribe. Some of these people have given up this trade and are now seeking to supplement their income through the sale of skillfully produced crafts. Your guide will show you around the village and your tour will come to an end with a relaxing afternoon drive back to Chiang Mai.
