Honestly, if you're heading to Sentosa and you haven't considered the Cable Car Sky Pass, you're missing out on what might be the single best 15 minutes of your entire Singapore trip. Forget the causeway bridge. Forget the monorail. Nothing compares to floating 100 metres above the harbour in a glass-walled cabin, watching container ships crawl beneath your feet while Sentosa's beaches stretch out ahead of you.
The Cable Car Sky Pass covers both routes in the network. The Mount Faber Line runs from Faber Peak down to HarbourFront Tower 2 and then across to Sentosa Station — that's the dramatic one, the one you see in all the photos, where you're soaring over open water with the port sprawling below. Then there's the Sentosa Line, which hops between Merlion Station, Imbiah Lookout, and Siloso Point. Shorter ride, lower altitude, but still gorgeous — especially around sunset when the light hits the tree canopy just right.
Each cabin fits up to 8 people. They're air-conditioned (thank god, because Singapore humidity is no joke) and spacious enough for strollers and wheelchairs. You don't need to book a specific departure time. Just show up at the station, scan your voucher, and hop on the next available cabin.
The cable car runs every day from 7:45 AM to 9:00 PM. Most tourists pile in between 11 AM and 3 PM, so if you want a cabin to yourself — and trust me, you do for photos — aim for early morning or late afternoon. The golden hour light around 5:30–6:00 PM turns the whole harbour into something ridiculous. Bring your phone charged.
One thing worth knowing: it runs through rain too. The cabins are fully enclosed, so a tropical downpour actually makes the ride more dramatic, not less. Watching a storm roll over the Southern Islands from up there is genuinely surreal.
The Sky Pass is a round-trip ticket. You ride up, do your thing on Sentosa — whether that's Universal Studios, the aquarium, or just lying on Palawan Beach — and then ride back whenever you're ready. No rush, no fixed return time. Kids under 4 are free, and the child rate covers ages 4 through 12.
Quick heads up: this particular ticket doesn't include transfers to Faber Peak itself. You'll need to make your own way there. The easiest option is grabbing a taxi from HarbourFront MRT — it's a 5-minute ride up the hill. If you're feeling energetic, the walking trail from the MRT takes about 20 minutes through some unexpectedly beautiful forest.
Look, you can get to Sentosa for a couple of dollars on the Sentosa Express monorail. Nobody's pretending the cable car is the budget option. But here's the thing — the monorail is just transport. The cable car is an experience. You're crossing open ocean in a glass box. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Indonesia. It's one of those moments that actually earns its place on your camera roll.
Plus, if you're travelling with kids, they'll lose their minds. In a good way. Our visitors consistently mention it as a trip highlight, not just a way to get from A to B.
A few practical bits: you'll get either a printed voucher or an e-voucher — both work at the gate. There's a 24-hour free cancellation policy, which is handy given how unpredictable travel plans can be. Make sure you fill in all the required fields during checkout or your booking won't go through.
For the official route map and any last-minute schedule changes, the One Faber Group website has everything. You can also check out more things to do in our Singapore destination guide or browse all available attractions to build out your itinerary.

Took this on our last evening in Singapore and it was genuinely the highlight of the trip. The Mount Faber Line over the harbour is incredible — you can see the container port, Sentosa beaches, and the city skyline all at once. Cabins are clean and air-conditioned which was a lifesaver in the heat. Only slight downside is getting to Faber Peak itself requires a taxi or a sweaty uphill walk from HarbourFront MRT. But once you are up there, totally worth it.
My kids (ages 6 and 9) absolutely lost it when the cabin started moving over the water. We rode the Mount Faber Line to Sentosa in the morning, spent the day at the beach and USS, then rode back around sunset. The return trip at golden hour was stunning — bring your camera. No queues at all when we went around 8:30 AM. Pro tip: sit on the left side going to Sentosa for the best harbour views.
Good experience overall. The Sentosa Line is shorter and less dramatic than the Mount Faber Line but still nice views of the jungle canopy. Voucher redemption was quick — just scanned it on my phone at the gate. Would have been 5 stars but we went midday and had to wait about 15 minutes for a cabin. Go early or late to avoid the crowds.
